Our first Canine Condo has arrived!! We want to thank Cara Achterberg and Who Will Let The Dogs Out for their donation of this new concept in animal “shelters”. They purchased this 12x24 shed for us so we could begin to have a place to save emergency cases besides my overcrowded home. This shed will have heat and air and will hold 8-10 dogs.
Tiny Shelters are small and much less expensive to operate than a large shelter and the animals are much happier. They live in these “condos” as a pack. They are contained inside for their safety but each will have a doggy door so they can get out in the yard and play with each other. Each condo will have fencing around it.
We are looking for about an acre of land to place these Condos. The entire acre will be fenced in and we can add more Condos as we can. Each Condo will be insulated and will have a solid concrete floor for easy cleaning.
After visiting a couple shelters, we are really excited about this because our dogs will be living like dogs which will make them happier and more relaxed and this will help them adjust better to home life.
We are planning on designing an entire campus of tiny shelters. We have a vision of people walking around the condos looking for their special dog rather than be in a shelter with screaming, barking dogs. Everyone needs to go to a shelter and see what it is like. It’s awful.
We have our first……and will be getting our second so who would like to donate our third?
