Tuesday, April 9, was your typical evening in our area until the employee at the new Dollar
General located beside Goat Island Road had anything except your run of the mill shift.

The employee was robbed at gun point by Jameson Prentis Jones of Murfreesboro, Tenn. Jones
then left the store while the employee reported the crime.

Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Deputies were on their way to the scene when the 911 office
received a call dispatching the Iuka Police Officers to a second armed robbery.

Police were dispatched to the Exxon gas station in Iuka at the corner of Battleground Drive and
Highway 25. Two robberies occurred at this location.

Iuka Police Officers and the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Deputies were quick to respond. The
suspect had left the area, but witnesses were able to give a description of his vehicle.

Law enforcement officers found the suspect and his vehicle in the parking lot of Brook’s Grocery
store.

Due to the quick actions of our local law enforcement, the suspect was apprehended without
incident and carried to the Tishomingo County Jail where he is awaiting bond to be set.

No further information was available due to it being an active investigation.
