On December 2nd, 2023, the Rooster Tail Gallery & Studio was unveiled during a lively open house from 5 to 7 PM. Nestled at 119 Front Street in Downtown Iuka, the gallery, once the Burrow Grocery, underwent careful renovation under the thoughtful direction of owner Terrie Whitehurst, a well-respected community figure and spouse of Sid Whitehurst Sr.
Local artists and curious visitors gathered at the event, eager to catch a glimpse of the captivating collection featured. The artworks showcased the remarkable talent within the community, adding to the excitement surrounding the gallery’s upcoming opening. The artists proudly presented their pieces, engaging with visitors and sharing the vibrant stories behind their works.
Starting December 12th, 2023, Rooster Tail Gallery will open its doors to art enthusiasts, operating Wednesday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM. The ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony are set for December 18th, 2023. This transformative space promises not just a gallery but a cultural hub, breathing more life into the heart of Iuka’s Downtown.
