Inaugural Buckin’ on the Bigbee Rodeo Friday and Saturday Nights During Waterway Festival

The Burnsville Area Chamber of Commerce is very excited to add the Inaugural Buckin’ on the Bigbee Rodeo to their 31st Annual Waterway Festival. The rodeo will take place on Friday night September 22nd and Saturday night September 23rd, both nights beginning at 8pm. Gates open at 6pm. It is being held beside the chamber building, right off of Highway 72 in Burnsville.

Tickets can be pre-purchased in Burnsville at 72 Express/Subway, Timbes Tire, and FANB; in Iuka at the Tishomingo County Development Foundation; and in Corinth at Love & a Dog Boutique. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 3-10. Children 2 and under are free.

Both nights there will be food trucks and tents on site selling a delicious variety of homemade meals and snacks. You will be able to purchase rodeo tees, hats, and other goodies there as well.

“We are very much looking forward to this sanctioned, high-quality rodeo coming to our town! We know everyone will have a blast with all of the awesome Waterway Festival events happening in Burnsville this year!” says Chamber President Kayleigh Bode.

On Saturday morning, the 31st annual Waterway 5k will take place with a special surprise announcement to kick it off. The race begins at 8am at the Burnsville City Hall building. Runners may sign up the day-of starting at 7 am. Entry fee is $20- this includes a participation tee (while supplies last) and trophies for the winners.

The Waterway Festival will begin at 10 am behind City Hall. Their biggest festival yet includes all-day live entertainment, local food and craft vendors, jumpies and fun activities for kids, bingo, and a large car show.

The Chamber is very thankful for their festival sponsors: Timbes Tire, Alcorn County Co-op, Main Street Cycle, and Visit Mississippi. They would also like to thank all of the other gracious sponsors, vendors, and volunteers for making this year’s festival possible. Bring your families out to Burnsville Friday night the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd for a weekend full of fun and excitement!
