Tishomingo County High School’s head principal, Dr. Dax Glover, has been selected as the University of North Alabama’s K-12 Educator of the Year. He received this honor from The Office of Alumni Relations and UNA National Alumni Association.

Dr. Glover graduated from UNA in 2010 with a degree in secondary education. He has most recently earned his doctoral degree from Liberty University in Educational Leadership. A 2005 graduate from Tishomingo County High School, he began his teaching career in 2011 in the Tishomingo County School District. He has served as assistant principal at Iuka Elementary School and TCHS, athletic director at TCHS, and currently is the head principal at Tishomingo County High School. It is evident that Dax Glover is passionate about serving his alma mater because he spends countless hours outside of the normal school-day operations on the TCHS campus supporting the many activities and events that take place on and off campus. Not only does he support his students and staff, but he is enthusiastic about school improvement whether it pertains to academics, athletics, or campus appearance. Under Dr. Glover’s leadership, Tishomingo County High School has shown consistent academic and extracurricular improvements. Likewise, under Dr. Glover’s leadership, TCHS has been rated an A school for the 2022-2023 academic year. This is the first time an A rating has been achieved in the school’s history. Student achievement outside of the classroom has also improved with multiple teams, individuals, and groups participating at the highest level of state competitions.

Dr. Glover and his wife, Ashton, who is a TCHS and UNA alumna, reside in Iuka. They have two boys, Bo Taylor and John Maddax.
