After the resignation of former Mayor Joel Robertson, a special election has been scheduled to elect a new mayor. Two candidates, Kenny Carson and Benny Gray, have qualified to run for the position. The election is slated to take place on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, with voting hours from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at Iuka City Hall. The responsibility for counting the ballots at the close of the polls rests with the Circuit Clerk's office.
