My name is Benny Gray and I am officially announcing my candidacy for the Office of Mayor for the City of Iuka in the May 14, 2024 Special Election. I dedicated 40 years as a servant to the citizens of Iuka in diverse roles that developed my

foundational knowledge of the function of city government. I started work with the City of Iuka in the Public Works Department, then served as the Assistant Fire Chief in the Fire Department

before I ultimately transferred into the City Clerk’s Office where I served as your City Clerk for

approximately 30 years. While City Clerk, I developed knowledge in municipal law and

perfected approaches to navigate those laws allowing the City to craft policy to achieve the

City’s goals in the interest of the people of Iuka. Understanding that the City has ongoing

projects needing to be driven to completion and other efforts that need to be kicked off, I am

confident that I can work with the Board of Alderman, City employees and members of the

community to get these tasks done.

My wife, Patricia, and I have dedicated our lives to the service of this community and its children

through our previously owned Forever Friends Daycare. Our two sons, Benjamin and Brandon,

continue our work through similar service to the City and its children. I’m also a board member

on the Tri-State Cross for Christ helping to erect a beautiful Cross just off Highway 72 in Iuka.

I am not a stranger to working with the public and am well equipped to perform in the role as

your Mayor. I promise to serve all citizens equally and fairly and to be available in the Mayor’s

office to talk with and listen to your concerns as they arise. I intend to see as many as possible,

if I fail to see you personally, I take this opportunity to ask for your vote for me in this May 14 th

Special Election... Vote Benny Gray, Mayor!
