Softball faced some key opponents this past week. Their division opener on the road against Shannon went very well, as they won the game 17-0.
Then they had some problems with the weather, as the schedule got shaken up due to some postponements. The Lady Braves will still face the Mooreville Troopers; however, it isn’t known at the time when the game will take place, yet.
But to kick off spring break, the Lady Braves have taken a long road trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the Gulf Classic Tournament. They played Monday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 14.
The two games on day one were against Hillcrest Tuscaloosa, which they lost 6-0, and against Summit, which they lost 7-5. The Lady Braves bounced back on day two against Briarcrest Christian 20-4, and then dropped the final game against Bellaire 4-0.
Braves get win in Division opener
Baseball had some critical games this past week. On last Tuesday, March 7, they faced Amory on the road. They lost the game 10-0.
Then last Saturday, March 11, they faced Caledonia in their division opener. They got a critical 2-1 victory after a great performance on the mound by Jackson Moore.
Monday, March 13, they tried to go for the series sweep on the Cavaliers but fell short on the road, losing 8-6. They are scheduled to face off against Amory and West Union on March 17, and then against Itawamba on the road on March 21.
