Lady Braves get revenge with Biggersville defeat

It was an exciting end to the regular season for the Lady Braves, as they beat Biggersville 66-62 in double overtime Friday night.

The game would start off going poorly, but after a 10-0 run to start the 3rd quarter, the Lady Braves kept it close and eventually fell into overtime with the Lady Lions. In overtime, one of the biggest plays of the season occurred when TC was down three with 45 seconds left, Reese Moore hit a game-tying 3 pointer from way beyond the stripe. This would push the game into double overtime, which would see TC come out victorious, 66-62.

Lila Sanderson had a great senior night and she really earned player of the game honors.

With last week’s victory over Caledonia, the Lady Braves had already clinched a first round bye in the division tournament, so the bracket has them taking on Corinth or Shannon in the first round. That game will take place on the campus of ICC at 4 on Wednesday, February 8.

As for the boys, they had a disappointing end to the regular season losing to Biggersville 74-51. The bracket for the division tournament had already been decided, so they will take on Caledonia on Tuesday, February 7. The winner will move into a playoff spot. Make sure to get to ICC this week for some division tournament action!

Bowling teams place at State

For the bowling team, a great sendoff to the season occurred at the State Championships, as the girls took home 7th place and the boys took home 3rd place. Great job to all the players and coaches as they look to build on that momentum next season.

Powerlifters advance to North Half

Congratulations to our powerlifters who advanced to the North Half, those being Kaley Latch, Annsleigh Fair, and Aubriann Massengill.

The band also had representatives at the Northeast Mississippi Band Masters Association clinic over the weekend. After just two days of practice during the clinic, they gave a great concert Saturday afternoon. TC was represented by band members Eli Emerson, Anna Jane Burcham, and Brianna Tensley.

Archery season begins Thursday, with the first match at Alcorn Central.
