The Tishomingo County High School gym was the place to be Friday night for the final regular season game and senior night as they redeemed their earlier season loss to Biggersville Lady Lions in double overtime, winning 66 - 62.

In the first three minutes of the game, the Lady Lions went on a six-point run while the Lady Braves remained scoreless until Lila Sanderson put two points on the board.

What started as a slow game, with the Lady Lions up by 10 points, going into half-time, quickly changed pace in the second half.

The Lady Braves came out of half-time on fire.

Reese Moore scored a three-pointer to start the third quarter, followed by a Lady Lions turnover, and then Abbi Reed got on the board with a three-pointer.

The Lady Braves defense pressed hard, causing Biggersville to have multiple turnovers, and gave the Lady Braves a 10-point run.

With just under a minute left in the fourth quarter, the Lady Lions were up by two points when Sanderson pulled a jump shot and scored to tie the game.

The Lady Lions had the ball and ran time off the clock with less than 10 seconds left in the game; Leileigh Moody shot a three as it bounced around the rim before falling off the goal.

The buzzer sounded the Lady Braves had more than doubled the points they scored in the first half of the game and tied it 52 – 52.

Biggersville was up by three points with 35 seconds left on the clock when Moore hit the three-pointer to tie the game.

In the final seconds, the Lady Lions had possession and passed it to Asia Stafford under the goal; she missed, while Moore rebounded the ball and passed to Sanderson as she attempted a shot at the buzzer and missed.

The energy in the gym was palpable as the second overtime started with a tipoff by Biggersville that caused Stafford to tip the ball and grab it, an immediate Lady Lions turnover.

The Lady Braves took the lead, while the Lady Lions fought to the bitter end, but the Lady Braves were the better team by the buzzer.

The leading scorer for the night was Sanderson with 23 points, Moore with 17 points, and Zareli Ozuna had 12 points.

Coach Brian Middleton knew the tables had turned for the Lady Braves when they came back with the 10 – 0 run, and Moore hit the three-pointer from 24 feet back, putting them in the game.

The Lady Braves finished regular season play with a 24 – 2 record and started division play as the No. 1 seed in division 1-4A.

The JV Lady Braves finish out the season undefeated

For the final game for the JV Lady Braves this season, they beat the JV Lady Lions 27 – 12 to remain undefeated.

Ainsley Marlar and Baylon Middleton tied for leading scorer with 7 points each.

The Braves closed out their regular season with a loss

The Braves finished their regular season at home on senior night with a loss to the Biggersville Lions 51 – 74.

The first quarter remained a tight game, with the Braves down by only two points to start the second quarter.

The Braves had back-to-back turnovers as they attempted to inbound the ball, and the Lions capitalized on those mistakes, scoring.

As the teams headed to the locker room for half-time, the Lions had a comfortable distance between them and the Braves on the scoreboard.

Unfortunately, the Braves did not turn things around after half-time; although they worked hard to score, the clock worked against them.

Connor Bullen and Chase Booker tied for 13 points each as the leading scorer.

The JV Braves fell to the JV Lions

To close out their season, the JV Braves fell to the Biggersville Lions 16 – 33.

The leading scorer for the game was Grayden Markle, with 8 points.
