Dorothy Dailey, 90, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her residence. She enjoyed quilting and was of the Christian faith.
She was a charter member of the Needle Chasers Quilt Guild of Tishomingo County. For years she made exquisite hand-appliqued, hand-quilted quilts that won awards at national American Quilt Society shows. In 2014 she was named a Mississippi Legacy Quilter by the Mississippi Quilt Association in recognition of her work on quilts like Conway Album, at right.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Hinton (Michael); her sister, Doris Kennedy; and her two grandchildren, Laura Dudley and David Dudley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood Dailey; her son, Larry Dailey; her parents, Walter Lee and Ruth Shepard Crabb; and her brothers, Herman Crabb, Eugene Crabb, and Donald Crabb. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, Mississippi is entrusted with the arrangements. Services were Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen, officiated by Bro. Donovan Cain and Bro.
