On April 2, 2023, Wallace Wilson Conaway left this world and arrived at his eternal life home prepared for him by Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 14:2-3, “I go to prepare a place for you, And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”

Wallace was born in Burnsville, Mississippi, on September 5, 1942, to Harris Wilson and Ruthie Vee Conaway, deceased. They were also parents to his loving brother Kenneth Ray Conaway (Essie Mae), deceased, and his devoted sister Ila Vee McGahey. Wallace was a man of dignity, integrity and deep faith. He lived by the motto, instilled by his mother each time he left her, “be good, be careful, and be fair with your clients.” He was greatly loved and appreciated by family, friends, and colleagues, including nieces Jenna McGahey Glenn (Gary) and Lerita Conaway Stacy (Delaine); nephew Keenan Conaway (Bridget); grandnieces and grandnephews, Amber McCord, Jeremiah Littlejohn, deceased, Levi Conaway (Jolynn), Kyle Conaway, and Belle Conaway; great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews Nate, Hailey, Noah, Kathryn, and Kenneth James; forever friend and former spouse, Elizabeth Cranwell; and many other precious friends and colleagues.

In 1972, Wallace was admitted to the bar in both Tennessee and Mississippi and began his practice of law at Evans, Petree, Cobb & Edwards in Memphis. He continued his practice in Corinth, Mississippi, and later in Knoxville where he was Of Counsel at Ambrose, Wilson, Grimm & Durand. He was a graduate of Burnsville High School, University of Memphis (formally Memphis State University), University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, and Harvard Business School.

Private entombment for Wallace will be at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville, Tennessee. A celebration of his Home Going will be in Burnsville, Mississippi, at a place and time to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The University of Salvation, 6513 Deane Hill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919.

Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.berryhighlandmemorial.com for the Conaway family.
