TC volleyballers fall to Alcorn Central, Belmont in close games

Tuesday night, Belmont won in three tight games over the Tishomingo County girls. Belmont was able to come back and get the win every time TC got ahead, something the young Lady Braves team has been unable to master so far this season.
The scores were 25-22, 25-20 and 25-16 Tuesday at Belmont.
JV also fell short. They won a match, and lost one to Belmont, and Belmont won the third.
Alcorn Central
Last week, the Lady Braves beat themselves Thursday night against rival Alcorn Central, falling three matches to one in their season opener due to unforced errors that showed the young team still needs some time to gel.
The Lady Bears did not have an easy way of it - Tishomingo County challenged them throughout every match, nearly always within just a few points, and going ahead a few times, but not quite enough to get the victory.
The young team shows improvement every match, and with experience will work together more smoothly as a team. They showed a lot of promise Thursday, with returning players like setter Zarelli Ozuna, power hitter Reese Moore, and libero Gracie Crowe leading the way.
Strong front-line performances from Katie Jourdan and Margaret Claire Riley indicate how much those players have grown since last season. Their height, along with Baylon Middleton’s, will be a force to be reckoned with if they continue to improve.
