Modern Woodmen fundraiser for TCHS Bowling Team a success

Modem Woodmen of America members in Iuka recently helped raise money for TCHS Bowling Team with a special fund-raising event on November 30th.
The event included the sale of sponsorships and a bowl-a-thon. Players received donations based on their score and raised $2,750. This includes $1,000 matched by Modem Woodmen through the organization’s Matching Fund Program. The funds will be used to help buy uniforms, equipment and supplies for the bowling team.
The Matching Fund Program offers Modem Woodmen members nationwide the chance to show their support for a community cause, organization or individual in need through fundraisers. These fundraising projects contribute more than $10 million to community needs across the country each year.
“The community truly came together to support a local need,” says Shawn Phelps, local Modem Woodmen volunteer leader. “That support is what it’s all about.”
Coordinated by local Modem Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization’s Summit chapters, chapters and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to take part in social and educational activities and volunteer projects to meet local needs.
For more information or to get involved, contact Shawn Phelps at (662) 660-6700 or email Shawn.R.Phelps@mwarep.org.
As a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society, Modem Woodmen sells life insurance, annuity and investment* products not to benefit stockholders but to improve quality of life for its members, their families and their communities. This is accomplished through social, charitable and volunteer activities. Annually, Modem Woodmen and its members provide nearly $20 million and over 400,000 volunteer hours for community projects nationwide.
