Midway Homemaker's County Council Meeting-September 13, 2022

The Midway Homemaker's Club and County Council members met Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at the Mississippi State Extension Office. The club members and one Agent were present.The first Part of the club meeting was in regard to the MHV Northeast Area Fall Planning Meeting-IVC. The clubs in Northeast Mississippi engaged in a county­ wide media hook-up to finalize plans tor the fall meeting in Lafayette County this November 11th, 2022. Two Tishomingo County MHV members volunteered to assist in the activities. They were Barbara Pardue, County Council Vice President, and Agent Emily Vestal.With the Fall Planning finalized, County Council President Linda Hester called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Barbara gave the Devotional entitled "Hollow Tree," by Sandra Wakefield from an Upper Room publication.

Scriptures were Galatians 6: 1- 5. Barbara led the prayer.

County Council Secretary Betty Hickey read the minutes from the last meeting. They were approved as read. Then she collected each member's club dues. The Council :financial report was given, and accepted.

Old Business

The food-a club project--for the Adult Day Care Center will be picked up by Linda Hester from Subway Sandwich Shop, and Piggly Wiggly and delivered to the Center, Friday, September 16th, at approximately 11 AM, as the Center Managers have designated. Club Secretary Freida Bishop showed members a colorful patch work quilt made by Joyce Borden that will be one of the two quilts that will be donated along with the delicious food. Names will be drawn there to determine the two lucky winners.

New Business

The club discussed serving food in the kitchen at the Fair in October. This is one of the club's required fund-raising projects. Members agreed to work the kitchen on Thursday and Friday nights. A discussion followed regarding the menu, and what each member elects to bring. That completed, the club adjourned 11:15 AM.
