Linda June Whitehurst Moore, 83, passed away on August 16, 2023, at Methodist-Lebonheur Germantown Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, following a brief illness. Linda was married for nearly 60 years to H.L. “Popcorn” Moore, gamely tolerating (for the most part) his practical jokes, general nonsense, and endless shenanigans over those many years.

Linda enjoyed flowers, watching and caring for birds, especially hummingbirds, and was a lifelong avid collector of cookbooks, serving countless delicious meals throughout her lifetime to family and friends. Active until just before her death, she had many friends at the NMHS Wellness Center in Iuka and enjoyed working out at the facility several times each week. Most of all, Linda enjoyed monitoring QVC daily for the latest fashion, beauty, health, jewelry, shoes, home décor, kitchen, and food essentials. A longtime, loyal customer, Linda loved all things QVC, and those who knew her well knew that if an item didn’t come from QVC, she didn’t want it!

Linda is survived by two daughters, Tracey Moore Hall and husband, Michael, and Sherrie L. Moore; a sister, Lola Whitehurst Vandiver; several beloved nieces, nephews, and their families; and special friends, Lenny Johnson and Rhonda Foster. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, H. L. “Popcorn” Moore; her parents, Earl and Virgie Whitehurst; her siblings, Clayton Whitehurst and Lila Whitehurst Lindsey Daniel; her brothers-in-law, Lee Lindsey, Roy Daniel, and Tody Vandiver; her sister-in-law, Maggie Whitehurst; and her niece, Vickie Lindsey Winchester.

Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS, was entrusted with arrangements. There was no funeral or graveside services. Interment was in New Prospect Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, or to a charity of your choice. An online guestbook may be accessed at www.cutshallfuneralhome.com.
