Lee Pounds

Lee Pounds, aged 58, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Booneville, MS to Vernon and Sue Byram Pounds. Lee dedicated twenty-three years of his life to work at Tiffin Motor Homes and was a devoted member of Second Street Church of Christ. He found joy in deer and turkey hunting, gardening, and passionately followed Mississippi State football.

Services were held on Friday, September 29, at 3 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS, with Bro. Dustin Smith and Bro. Chris Bolton officiating. Burial took place in Lindsey Cemetery, Dennis, MS, with Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS, overseeing the arrangements.

Lee is survived by his mother, Sue Barnes; sister, Christi Pounds; uncle, Mike Byram (Tammy); nieces and nephews, Dustin and Cilia Smith, Tyler Smith, Laken and Matt Fuller, Brodi and Mary Pounds, and Dustin and Jenny Farris. He is also survived by three great-nieces, Ella Kate Fuller, Catherine Smith, and Oakleigh Pounds, a great-nephew, Jax Fuller, and his special friends and patients from the Cancer Center, Paul "Bubba" Goode, and Mrs. Doris.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Kerry Pounds, and his grandparents, Fred and Myrtle Pounds, and Deck and Quay Byram.

Pallbearers were Alan Williams, Tim Smith, John-Grady Taylor, Phil Byram, Jonathon Nunley, Austin Deaton, Scott Caldwell, Ronnie Harris, Robbie Smith, Jesse Shotts, Bruce Deaton, Jason Coker, Greg Smith, and Trevor Collier. Honorary pallbearers included the Rock Creek Hunting Club and Burns Branch Hunting Club.

The family expresses special thanks to Tara, Crissy, Mia, Jorden, Vienna, Melanie, and Dr. Schreeder of CCI, Huntsville, AL, Debbie, Alicia, and Holly of CCI, Florence, AL, and Gentiva Hospice.
