Janette left this life on Thursday, December 15, 2022, to go to her Heavenly home. She had fought a good fight and had kept the faith. She was born on April 17, 1941 to Blanche Viola Robinson Brown and William Houston Brown. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed working in the church. She loved her Lord and Saviour very much. She was married to Donald Maxwell until January 31, 1990 when he passed away. She worked at the Iuka Shirt Factory, Genesco, Key West Inn, and her last job was at the Tishomingo Community Living Center where she passed away. Her survivors include her sister, Pearl Brown Yarber; two half-sisters, Debbie and Sheree; two half brothers, Ernie and Michael. Her mother died when she was an infant and was raised by her dad's sister adn her husband, Athalee and Millard Layton. She was also survived by special cousins, Shirley, Martha, and Ruby, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, William Henry, Johnny Edward, Cecil and Floyd; and two sisters, Francis and Mary Virginia; one half brother, Dwight "Buddy"; and three half sisters, Joyce, Fern, and Wanda. She loved to watch game shows and go to gospel singings. Don and Janette would go many places to hear the professional gospel groups sing. She always loved her family and loved to go to homecomings around the local areas. Janette will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
