The Iuka United Methodist Church, one of Tishomingo County’s oldest United Methodist Churches, is delighted to announce its newest ministerial appointment. The Rev. Dr. Jonathan Speegle will be joining our congregation beginning Sunday July 2, 2023.
Dr. Speegle has been an appointed United Methodist pastor for 26 years. He has served charges in North Alabama, Central Texas, and Mississippi. Originally from Alabama, Dr. Speegle holds a BA in Religion from Samford University, an MDiv from its Beeson Divinity School, and a PhD in Systematic Theology from Baylor University. Per Dr. Speegle, “I am a biblically focused preacher, my theology is orthodox, my convictions traditional, and my outlook conservative.”
Dr. Speegle will be joined by his wife of 35 years, Lynn. They have a daughter, Tiffany, who is an attorney in Biloxi, Mississippi and a granddaughter, Izzy.
IUMC will be hosting a Meet and Greet Brunch to honor Dr. Speegle and Lynn the following Sunday, July 9th, during Sunday School at 10:15 a.m. in the Family Life Center, 101 E Eastport Street.
Members and friends are cordially invited to join us in this time of renewal and fellowship as we welcome Dr. Speegle and Lynn into our church family.
