Iuka Voting Precinct Relocation Notice

Posted

Starting this week through the first week of April citizens who are registered to vote at the Iuka Precinct will receive notice in the mail about the relocation of the Iuka Precinct polling place location, where voters cast their vote on election day. Included in the notice is a letter explaining the change and a new voter registration card. The Iuka voting precinct will NO longer be located at the Tishomingo County Electric Power Association Metering Department Building (old Chevrolet Place). Therefore, you will NOT go to the TCEPA Metering Building to vote on election day. The Iuka Precinct has been relocated to the Boy Scout Building at 1607 Paul Edmondson Drive Iuka, MS 38852. The first Election impacted by this change will be the August 8th 2023 Primary. The Boy Scout Building will now serve as the Iuka Voting Precinct. If you have any questions about these changes, please reach out to the Circuit Clerk’s Office anytime at 662 423-7026. Only those who are registered to vote at the Iuka precinct are affected by this change. If you do not receive notice in the mail in the coming weeks, and believe you should have been notified, please contact us to verify.
In June of 2022 the TCEPA informed the Circuit Clerk and Election Commission that the Tishomingo Connect Fiber Internet business would be expanding operations in the TCEPA Metering Department building. The expansion of the Tishomingo Connect operations reduced the available space for the conduction of Elections inside the metering building. TCEPA was unable to accommodate the space required to conduct an Election, therefore a new location for the Iuka voting precinct had to be established by the Tishomingo County Board of Supervisors. The new location being, the Iuka Boy Scout Building at 1607 Paul Edmondson Drive Iuka, MS.
