Iuka Headstart to shut down

Unable to meet federal quotas for the number of students served, Iuka Headstart has announced they are closing their doors.
Teachers, supporters and staff have tried hard in recent months to promote the Iuka program, and build up the number of students from 38 to the federal requirement of 55, but were unable to.
Belmont, Tishomingo and Burnsville Headstarts are still open and accepting students. Burnsville says they have 35 students now, but are opening another room to serve 52, and they welcome any Iuka Headstart parents to check them out.
