It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gary Otas McDonald and Katherine Anne McDonald. They are survived by their son, Jason McDonald (Terra), and their grandson, Finley McDonald, along with their daughter, Chelsie McDonald, and granddaughter, Atlantis Studyvin.

Gary was a remarkable man known for his unwavering dedication to his family. He was a dedicated provider who worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of his loved ones. Gary’s passion for life and his love for his family will forever be remembered and cherished. He was preceded in death by his parents Otas McDonald and Gloria McDonald. He is survived by his brother Robert McDonald (Deborah).

Katherine was a compassionate and nurturing soul. Katherine’s love for her family was boundless, and her home was a warm and welcoming place for all who entered. She was preceded in death by her parents James V. Smith and Betty J. Smith, her siblings James V. Smith Jr, Betty J. Jones, Robert C. Smith, and Cherry I. Smith. She is survived by her siblings Vivian Green, Ricky Smith (Lauren), and Daniel Smith.

Their passing leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled, but we take solace in knowing that they are together, forever, in each other’s arms. Gary and Katherine’s spirit will live on in the memories we hold dear and in the love they instilled in their family.

Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, Mississippi, is entrusted with the arrangements. A memorial service to celebrate their lives will be held on October 7, 2023, at Patrick Church from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Iuka, MS, with fellowship and food provided.
