Tishomingo– Eulene Poole, 91, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Generations of Red Bay where she had been a resident for five years, first as a nurse and then living there. She was a very pleasant lady who had a kind and considerate nature. Her nature was perfect for her career choice of being a nurse. Eulene said if she had a calling, that it was being a nurse. When asked what age she knew she wanted to be a nurse she said, “Always.” She pursued that dream later in life, at the age of 42 or 43. She was an exemplary example of it never being too late to pursue your dreams. She dedicated the first part of her life to her family whom she loved greatly.
She enjoyed music; it took her back to front porch sitting, with her and her sister singing, daddy playing the fiddle and her brother sometimes joining in with a guitar.
Funeral services were Friday, February 3, at Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church with Haskell Sparks and Bro. Tim Storment officiating. Burial was in Forest Grove Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Mississippi was in charge of arrangements.
She was married to “Bug” as she fondly called her husband for 64 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Gray and Mary Gray; her sister, Louise Woodis; a grandson, Scott Poole and her brother, J.A. Gray.
She is survived by her son, David Poole (Pam); her grandson, Jeff Poole (Jessica) and her sister, Minnie Yarbrough.
Pallbearers were Dexter Rosser, Michael Haney, Jason Tyson, Joe Ewing, Wayne Enlow and Jerry Taylor.
Visitation was February 2, at Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
