County Republicans & Republican women welcome PSC candidate

Posted

On November 22nd, at the Tishomingo Community Center, the Tishomingo County Republicans and the Tishomingo County Federation of Republican Women held their annual Thanksgiving potluck dinner where the groups welcomed Mandy Gunasekara and her husband. The event had record attendance and was hosted by Chief Mike Kemp who opened the evening with prayer.

Mrs. Mandy Gunasekara, a Trump Administration EPA Chief of Staff, Attorney, Mississippi native, and Supertalk Mississippi guest host, announced her Republican bid for the Public Service Commissioner post, currently held by a Democrat, in North Mississippi.   Mandy holds a law degree from the University of Mississippi.

Mandy pointed out many issues that need to be addressed like high fuel costs, high grocery costs, and high energy costs, and how decisions made by extreme leftists have crippled many Mississippi families’ economic efforts.  The groups in Tishomingo County are excited to support such an extremely qualified candidate.  Mandy can be supported at www.mandy.ms  through “Mandy for Mississippi”.

Pastor Paul Edler from the Saucer Creek Church of Christ presented an outstanding “10 Minutes of Hope” and encouraged all to consider God’s Word when making decisions in life or in politics.

The Tishomingo County Federation of Republican Women plans to hold their charter dinner in the early part of 2023 and invite area conservative women to join. Announcements will be made through social media and print media with dates, times and locations.

The Tishomingo County Republican Party, to include Senator Sparks, Representatives Carpenter, Bell, and Arnold, the Republican Supervisors and County Republicans wish you all a very Merry Christmas and holiday season. May God bless all that you do, your family, and our County in 2023.
