Braves prepping for season with new head coach

The Braves are almost ready for their first game of the season. This is no ordinary season for the Braves, as they come into the 2022 campaign with a new head coach. Coach Cory Quinn is here and ready to start leaving his mark on the Braves by having a good first season.
Coach Quinn is from Corinth, Mississippi. He is married, and has a 2-year-old son named Barrett. In addition to coaching football, he will also be teaching ACT Prep, Government/Economics, and World History. Coach Quinn started his coach-ing career at Ole Miss as a student assistant from 2011-2013. From there, he was the Tight Ends Coach at Itawamba Community College for the 2013 season. Following this, he was Wide Receivers/Defensive Line Coach at Hernando High School from 2014-2015. After that, he went back to the collegiate level for a season at the University of Arkansas-Monticello. The following season, Coach Quinn went to Lake Cormorant High School to become their Offensive Coor-dinator. Beginning in 2019, he went to coach at Alcovy High School in Covington, Georgia. The following year, he moved to Lake County, Tennessee, where he went 14-6 overall and made one appearance in the state semifinals and another one in the quarterfinals.
The Braves lost some key pieces including quarterback Blake Counce, who signed to play football and baseball at Millsaps College. However, the team has many options ready to produce during the season.
“This group has bought into the work that it will take to get this program going in the right direction. We’ve shown up every day this summer with the correct mindset. If we continue to improve, I expect us to have a year that will make our players, fans, and community proud,” said Coach Quinn.
The Braves will unofficially open the season with a “Meet the Braves” scrimmage game on August 12. Then, they will host a jamboree where the Braves take on Alcorn Central on August 19. After all the preseason festivities, the team travels to Mantachie for their first regular season game on August 26.
