A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Barbara J. Smith 80, is set for 5:00 pm Thursday at Memorial Funeral Home with Brad Dillingham officiating.
Family and friends gathering will be from 4:30 pm to service time.
Barbara died May 9, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Germantown, TN. She was born July 6, 1942 in Corinth, MS. to the ate James Bonnie Roaten and Lee Arlon Coleman Roaten. She was retried having worked at Wurlitzer after 30 years and later went on to work for the Alcorn Co. Sheriff Dept. for 12 years. She enjoyed cooking, reading, crossword games and she loved her cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty McKinnis.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Mills (Jeff); sisters, Nell Jones, Bonnie Howell; grandchildren, Sawyer Russell (Jessica), Mollie David Derick), Anderson Mill (Shelby); great grandchildren, Harlee Turner, Cooper Davis, Mattie Davis and Ella Louise Mills due in August; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
