Tri-State Cross Coming Soon

Local Volunteer Work is Making it Possible

We are excited to announce the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST will be coming soon to the intersection of Highway 72 East and O.E. Barrett Road in Iuka, MS. The Burns family donated the beautiful property located directly across from Southeast Auto Direct on Highway 72 East. The cross will be 120 feet tall and 64 feet wide. This is a major thoroughfare for vehicles traveling through Mississippi to Alabama, Tennessee, and beyond. According to mdot.ms.gov, approximately 6900 vehicles travel past this location daily. This means that potentially 7,000 people or more each day (that’s 210,000 people each month!) will see and be impacted by the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST. Generations to come will have testimonies from the power of the cross—through the blood of Jesus—for the forgiveness of their sins.

Rozier Construction built the first cross of this magnitude in Winona, Mississippi, in June 2014. Currently they have overseen the construction of twelve crosses in Mississippi and five more crosses throughout America. All of these Cross Ministries are reporting testimonies of salvation, healing, marriage and family restoration, discipleship Bible studies, college student prayer meetings, youth revival gatherings, birthday parties, weddings, and so much more. One man was contemplating suicide, saw the cross, pulled into the parking lot under the cross, prayed for help, and God poured out His love and truth on the hurting man. This man was transformed from darkness to God’s marvelous Light! So many stories are being told of people seeing these enormous crosses—often unexpectedly in the middle of nowhere—and the crosses remind them of the power of our Savior, Jesus Christ. These encounters with Jesus always occur at the perfect time to receive His peace.

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; ‘by His wounds you have been healed.’” (1 Peter 2:24)

Jesus died for ALL of us on the cross. The least we can do is live for Him. We can live for Him by making Him known to the lost and dying world. We can start this in the Tri-state region, where only 38.5% of the people have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. With this community coming together, we can raise the Tri- State Cross for CHRIST and provide a starting place for over 2.5 million people per year to encounter the love of Christ as they drive past the cross. This cross will stand for centuries, touching more than half a billion souls. We need you and want you to be part of this. Please help this community of believers to raise the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST!

Many volunteers are joining together to make our Tri-State Cross for CHRIST a reality in our area. Individuals, churches, and businesses have deposited over $107,000 into an account provided by the Create Foundation in Tupelo, MS. They manage all the funds and keep up with tax-deductible receipts and memorials for every donation. The details are open to anyone who wants to hold the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST organization accountable.

The cost of the last cross constructed by Rozier Construction was $189,000, which includes engineering the cross, the foundation, and a set of lights around the base of the cross. Additional money raised will go towards a 60’ x 60’ concrete pad, electrical system for lights, stone or brick at the base, a parking lot, landscaping, water irrigation system, benches, signs with salvation Scriptures, and more that can be added later. We will call Rozier Construction to begin engineering the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST when we reach $180,000. This figure will decrease as volunteers donate labor, equipment, and materials for the construction.

At this time, we are looking for people who are willing to donate their labor, equipment, and materials, such as:

  • 225 ton crane with 160’ reach to pick up a 47,800 lb cross
  • 2 fork lifts (7,000 lbs & 12,000 lbs)
  • Excavator (Note: if we have an excavator, we will not need the 7,000 lb fork lift)
  • 120’ man lift
  • 3 welding machines & 3 welders
  • Skid steer
  • Stone mason, materials and labor
  • Concrete finisher, concrete and labor
  • Donors for the electrical system & water irrigation system
  • Churches and restaurants coming together to provide meals for volunteers and construction workers during the week of construction

When we call and order the cross, $50,000 will be sent for the initial payment on metal materials to build it. Rozier Construction will then add our community cross to the construction calendar. In approximately 8-10 weeks, the engineered cross will be ready for delivery, and the final cost of materials, $48,000, will be sent. At this time, local volunteers must have everything prepared onsite for the raising of the cross. Construction takes approximately 7 days. The remaining amount of the $189,000 goes toward hired labor and machinery costs. Rozier Construction will oversee the construction onsite along with all of our volunteers, and will not be charging any extra for profit. Mike Rozier donates his time as an offering to the Lord, for these crosses to impact millions across America. The more volunteer laborers and equipment we have, the more money we save on construction to pay for the parking area, benches, Scripture signs, landscaping, a pavilion, memorial wall, etc.

If you or others you know are interested in being part of the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST, make a tax-deductible donation now by scanning the QR code on the commitment card or by mailing your donation to Tri-State Cross for CHRIST, P.O. BOX 316, Iuka, MS, 38852. Currently we need over $80,000 to raise the cross. Remember that over $107,000 has already been donated (Praise GOD). Your family and friends can give a memorial or honorary donation for their loved ones. This is also a great opportunity for businesses and industries to give back to the community for a tax deduction on their annual income.

As you can see, we must do this together. This unifying endeavor will strengthen our community and involve everyone willing to help. Every dollar given and every donation of time, materials, and equipment helps to make the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST a reality in our area. The benefits will impact our region for generations to come. This symbol of our Lord Jesus Christ will be a visual reminder of what the cross represents to each of us. Together, we can build something that will long outlast us. Future generations will know their families, churches, and area businesses invested in this enormous undertaking, because they are worth it.

Every soul that passes by the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST can be personally impacted by what the cross means to them. Groups, travelers, families, sports teams, and individuals will one day be able to pull into a parking area at the foot of the cross. The people will meet GOD as they sit under a pavilion, rest on a bench, pray, and be encouraged by Scriptures. Community members can hold worship services, family reunions, community events under the cross, and view a Memorial Wall etched with loved ones’ names. All this and more will be possible as you envision what we can have for our community and participate by donating. We are privileged to live in this Christian community and grateful to live among such generous givers who love the Lord Jesus Christ. We all have a passion and desire for people to encounter the love of Christ, and to be set free!!!

Pray Pottery, in downtown Iuka, is the information headquarters for the cross. You can give donations, receive printed literature, commitment cards, and addressed envelopes to hand out to family, friends, churches, and businesses. Future Tri-State Cross for CHRIST community meetings will be held at Pray Pottery as we proceed with the ministry of the cross. Everyone is invited and welcome to join. Meeting dates and times will be posted in the Vidette and social media.

Raising the Tri-State Cross for CHRIST will take a community-wide effort and will have a far-reaching regional impact, now and into eternity. This will unite the Body of Christ and give all glory to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when He held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for He was looking ahead and including them in what He would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate His righteousness, for He Himself is fair and just, and He makes sinners right in His sight when they believe in Jesus.” (Romans 3:22-26)
