The Annual Town of Tishomingo Christmas Parade will be held on Saturday, December 2nd. Lineup to be in the parade will be at 5 PM and the parade will start at 6 PM. The parade will be on Main Street in Tishomingo.
Honored in the parade will be the 2023 Citizen of the Year, Chief of Police, Mike Kemp. He has served Tishomingo County as a law enforcement officer for 43 years. He has served as a deputy, chief deputy, canine officer, investigator, and assistant chief of police, and for the past 24 years, the Town of Tishomingo has been honored to have him as its Chief of Police. He is a member of the Tishomingo County Foster and Rescue Foundation. He coordinates the annual Christmas Drive for needy children, distributing over 2400 gift packages to children in our area. On or off duty, Chief of Police Mike Kemp goes above and beyond to help not only our small town, but our entire community. Mike not only understands the protect part of the badge, but he is also a true example of what it means to be a public servant. On behalf of the Tishomingo Chamber of Commerce, it is our honor to present our amazing chief of police, Mike Kemp with this year’s Citizen of the Year award. It is certainly long overdue.
