The Old Courthouse Museum is pleased to invite you to the unveiling of the restored historical mural in Tishomingo, scheduled for Friday, September 29, at 12:00. This event marks the culmination of a six-week project undertaken by the featured artist, Tony Bullard, who has diligently worked to restore the mural to its former glory. We are immensely grateful to the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) for their grant, which has been instrumental in helping us bring this dream to fruition.
Additionally, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the local sponsors from Tishomingo who have generously supported us in this endeavor: The Town of Tishomingo, Gatlin’s Pharmacy, Mike Kemp, Martyville, Main Street Cycles, Napa Auto Parts, Gun & Pawn Shop, Rainbow Dollar Store, and Momma’s Garden.
The restoration of the historical mural holds significant importance for our community. Not only does it serve as a testament to our rich heritage, but it also contributes to the preservation of our cultural identity. The mural, which was once weather-beaten and faded, now emerges with beautiful painted scenes. First American National Bank and Sunflower Grocery will provide light refreshments.
