On Monday, December 27, Kerri Mitchell was sworn in as the newly appointed 4th District Election Commissioner, by Chancery Court Clerk, Josh McNatt. Holding the Bible during the oath was Mrs. Mitchell’s husband, Greg Mitchell.
Kerri Mitchell will be filling the position left vacant by Chasity George who resigned on November 24th, 2023. Mrs. Mitchell was recommended for the interim position by Mrs. George. In her resignation letter, Mrs. George expressed confidence in Mitchell stating “Kerri Mitchell has been a poll worker for several years and would be an asset to the Election Commission.”
The Board of Supervisors appointed Kerri Mitchell to serve as the interim commissioner until a special election is held in 2024.
