Mrs. Booker would like to thank her former students and guest speakers Mr. Brady Patrick and Mr. Ethan Stripling. These former IMS Chieftains came and spoke to the fifth grade about college, their chosen profession, and explained the dangers of vaping and smoking. Mr. Patrick is going to school to be a doctor, and Mr. Stripling is a nursing student at Northeast. We would like to thank them for taking the time to come visit and educate our students here at Iuka Middle School.
This week, on Monday, the eighth graders will have a guest speaker for Constitution Day while the entire school dresses in their patriotic red, white, and blue. Tuesday the school will be ready for a bird hunt as they dress in camouflage to hunt down those cardinals. Wednesday, we will be celebrating friendship and Love Like Mike Day as we wear orange and dedicate the new Outdoor Learning Center. Thursday, We will dress like our favorite celebrity or character for homecoming week, and Friday we will wear our blue to support our Braves. Please continue to check social media as we always have something going on here at IMS.
We will be recognizing our 8th grade Fall Student Athletes this week. Volleyball will be recognized during the pep rally on Tuesday, and band, football, and cheer will be recognized before the game on Tuesday. We still have the cap war going on until the end of the month. Please bring your clean bottle caps by the office and donate to your favorite house. The winning house will be picked at the end of the month and will receive house points to help their house as they attempt to win the coveted house cup at the end of the school year.
