Burnie Fun Run Hailed As Success

The Burnie Fun Run took place on Saturday, September 16th, and the turnout was fantastic, matching the perfect weather. Reneta Smith initiated this special event in honor of her mother, Burndeen Blackard, who tragically lost her life to ovarian cancer. The inaugural event was held on September 10, 2011, and it has continued to be a meaningful tradition. This year, the participants gathered at 8 am at the Train Station Fitness, all wearing teal-colored Burnie Fun Run shirts.

Looking ahead, they are already planning for another fun run next September, so mark your calendars to attend! The goal is for the Burnie Fun Run to grow bigger and better with each passing year. Importantly, all proceeds from this event go to support the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA).
