The town of Burnsville, Mississippi, is gearing up for the highly anticipated “Buckin’ On the Bigbee Rodeo and the 31st Annual Burnsville Waterway Festival,” set to take place this coming weekend. With just days to go, excitement is building as locals and visitors prepare for a wild and wonderful fusion of rodeo thrills and Southern charm.

As the sun begins to dip on Friday evening, all eyes will be on the Rodeo Arena. Spectators are expected to fill the stands to capacity, eager to witness heart-pounding bull riding, barrel racing, and calf roping events. The rodeo promises to showcase the incredible talents of cowboys and cowgirls from near and far.

The sanctioned bull riding competition is anticipated to be one of the main attractions, where daring riders will try to hold on tight to the back of massive bulls for a thrilling eight seconds. A rodeo clown will be on hand to provide both safety and humor, ensuring the event’s entertainment value is sky-high.

Children will have a blast with bouncy houses, carnival games, a petting zoo, and train rides, while adults can relax in the shade of festival tents and enjoy live music performances from local bands, shop with arts and crafts vendors, eat some yummy food, win some fabulous prizes at Bingo, and enjoy a Classic Car show.

Ferrin Rainey-Calvert (Tishomingo County Tourism Director and the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce Treasurer) expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming festival. “This will be our biggest festival yet, with over 70 vendors at the festival and over 20 vendors at the rodeo. We’re excited to add the rodeo to the lineup of events this weekend and welcome everyone to experience the unique blend of Western thrills and Southern hospitality that Burnsville has to offer.”
