TCHS Sophomore Abigail Robinson believes it’s never too early to plan for a future career. She recently spent the weekend at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - a private medical school located on the campus of Auburn University. This opportunity was unique and the first of its kind. Abigail’s scores on an Anatomy and Physiology placement test given by the
University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson afforded her the opportunity to advance to the inaugural “Anato-Bee” held at the VCOM this past weekend. There, as one of only two students from Mississippi, she studied for two days with twenty other students who placed the highest out of 700 test takers. The students encountered professors who guided them in an in-depth cadaver study where they were also able to diagnose case studies and learn techniques such as intubation and suturing. When asked about her unique experience, Abigail said, “I am beyond thankful for this amazing opportunity. It was a glimpse into life as a medical student. I appreciate my teachers and my family for making this experience possible. The
teachers at TCHS do more than just teach. They go the extra mile to see all of us succeed.”
