Chasity George, the 4th District Election Commissioner, has submitted her resignation, effective November 24th, 2023.
The Board of Supervisors met today to address this departure and appointed Kerri Mitchell to serve as the interim commissioner until a special election is held in 2024. The 4th District Supervisor, Jeff Holt, was not present for the meeting.
Kerri Mitchell was recommended for the interim position by Mrs. George. In her resignation letter, Mrs. George expressed confidence in Mitchell stating "Kerri Mitchell has been a poll worker for several years and would be an asset to the Election Commission."
