TISHOMINGO, Miss — Excitement is buzzing in Tishomingo as the local school introduces its first-ever youth volleyball program. The new initiative, aimed at 1st through 6th graders, marks a significant addition to the community’s athletic offerings and has already generated enthusiastic anticipation among students and parents alike.
With games set to kick off at the beginning of September, the program will provide young athletes with the opportunity to learn and develop volleyball skills in a supportive, fun environment. Games are scheduled to start soon after, offering the children their first taste of competitive play on the volleyball court.
The program is being organized under the leadership of Amber Barnes, who serves as the President of the T.A.A. league, and Kayla Brown, the league’s Vice President. “Our first week of practice watching all of the girls laughing and enjoying the growing sport,” Barnes said, “made all of the hard work from the Board to bring this together worth it.” Both Barnes and Brown are passionate about youth sports and are committed to fostering a positive and engaging experience for the participants.
“We are so excited to be able to bring volleyball to the Tishomingo Athletic Association.” said Barnes. “We are starting our first season with 5 teams. We want to thank Belmont for all the help we have received to be able to kick this off.”
With the new volleyball program, Tishomingo is set to add another exciting chapter to its youth sports legacy, providing young players with an opportunity to grow both on and off the court.
