The softball Lady Braves are 3-0 after Monday night’s 12-2 home opener victory over Alcorn Central.
Monday’s game was freshman pitcher Gracie Wilson’s third high school game, and also her third as winning pitcher! Leading hitters were Nya Reno and Paisley Barnes with four hits each. Senior Madi Wadkins had two hits including an in-the-park home run. Lily Ware and Addy Butler each put in two hits, including a double.
Saturday at the Mooreville Jamboree against New Site, TC won 15-0 in the first game. Wilson was the winning pitcher in her first ever varsity game, and had three hits, too. Freshman Autumn Barnes, also in her varsity debut, had three hits including a double. Wadkins had two hits including a homerun; Ware had a double and a triple for her two hits. Addy Butler had two hits and Alaina Hyde had a double.
In the second game Saturday, New Hope fell to the Braves 6-1. Wadkins, Hyde, and Ware all had two hits each, and Addy Butler had a double.
Tuesday night, the Lady Braves played at Walnut, winning 8-3.
