In a heartwarming turn of events, Seymore, the wandering pig, has finally been secured! After weeks of evasion and a community-wide effort spanning two states,
Seymore was safely lured into a pen today, thanks to the clever work of Gwen Durham Hester and Mitch Hester.
Throughout his adventurous journey, Seymore continually returned to Gwen and Percy, building a special bond of trust. So, when the time came to lure him into safety, it was no surprise that these familiar faces were the ones he trusted enough to follow.
Now that Seymore has chosen his forever home with Gwen and Mitch, plans are underway to build him a proper "palace" where he can live safely, happily, and securely. The community is coming together once again to raise funds for Seymore's new enclosure, along with a much-needed vet check-up and neutering to ensure his long-term health.
Belmont residents have shown incredible support and love throughout Seymore's journey, and the city of Red Bay, AL, also played a huge role in helping keep him safe. While Seymore settles into his new home, he will need some quiet time to decompress, but stay tuned for future events where the community can see him in person!
