Pontotoc ends Lady Braves’ season

Posted

The Lady Braves season is over after a matchup in the quarterfinals against Pontotoc. The Lady Braves ended Pontotoc’s season last year, and they were looking to repeat history. Pontotoc had other ideas, winning the game 56-44. The Lady Braves had a magnificent season, and the team should hold their heads high as they head into the offseason. Seniors Lila Grace Sanderson, Ansley Ray, Hallie Durham, Lexi Kennedy, and Emalie Wadkins have all had excellent careers and have helped elevate the program to a new level. The team will head into the offseason still searching for the program’s first state championship.
The baseball Braves got their first win of the season last against Booneville, 12-5. Their other games against TCPS, Alcorn Central, and Southaven were postponed due to rain. The TCPS game has been rescheduled to April 17. They beat Alcorn Central at home Tuesday night.
Softball’s hot start continues. They took a victory from Alcorn Central at home by a score of 12-2. They then traveled to Walnut and won on the road by a score of 8-3. The rematch vs Alcorn Central and their matchup vs Kossuth was postponed due to rain, with a date TBA.
Guard places in competition
Congratulations to the TCHS Indoor Guard for their great showing at the Tupelo competition. They placed 4th out of 9. The next competition is at NEMCC on March 3.
Also, E-Sports went 1-2 on the week.
