William Clayton Whitaker, 77, of Burnsville, Mississippi, died Friday, August 2, 2024, at home surrounded by family.
Mr. Whitaker was a member of Antioch Freewill Baptist Church. His lifelong love was farming and raising cattle. He enjoyed NASCAR and watching LSU sports with Candy. He also loved Ford Mustangs and cookouts with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Candice Whitaker and Melissa Whitaker; a granddaughter, Madelyn Whitaker; a sister, Kathy W. Austin; a niece, Krystal W. Carmack (Joe); and a nephew, M. Heath Whitaker (Alisha) and a sister-in-law, Cleda Whitaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady S. and Addie Scott Whitaker; two brothers, Billy C. Whitaker and Gerald L. Whitaker; and three sisters, Marie White, Betty Taylor, and Ruby South.
Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, at Antioch Freewill Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Glen Jones. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Glen.
