Midway Homemakers optimistic about 2023 activities

Posted

The Midway Homemaker Volunteer’s met Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 10 AM, at the Tishomingo County Extension Office. Those present were the Club members, their Agent, and a visitor.

Midway Club President Betty Hickey called the meeting to order. County Council Vice President Barbara Pardue led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Betty gave the Devotion; Scriptures were in Genesis 50: 19, regarding Joseph who forgave his brothers for their sin against him when they came to Egypt during the famine. Like Joseph, it’s best to forgive, and leave the justice to God. Prayer followed the devotion.

Betty reiterated the Council/C1ub’s activities for the past three months. And even with Covid-19 in abundance again, club members are optimistic about moving forward and working again in this new year of 2023.

Old Business

The Secretary’s Record Books are each due near the end of this month. Club members need to meet this month on Thursday, 26th, to make “Luv Buddies” for the Spring and Fall District meetings. Betty reports that the turbans for the Spring meeting are already finished.

New Business

Agent Emily Vestal gave April 12th, at noon, as the Cultural Arts Exhibit’s due date. And the Spring Area meeting may be in Booneville in April. The Club’s Awards Luncheon will be held February 24h at a local restaurant. The Club will meet again February at the Extension Office. The Council/Club will host the Fall District meeting in September of this year. Particulars regarding that meeting will be discussed in the upcoming club meetings.

With no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:40 AM. Barbara displayed some quilts she had made, and some other beautiful items at the end of the meeting.

If you would like to use your free time to help with the club’s community projects, please contact the Extension Office at (662)423-7016 and be a Homemaker Volunteer.
