Absentee Ballots Available for the November 5, 2024 General Election
Absentee ballots are now available for the November 5, 2024 General Election. You may come to the Circuit Clerk’s office to vote by absentee ballot in person Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All voters who vote by absentee in the Circuit Clerk’s office will be required to show a photo ID. Saturday, November 2 nd will be the last day to vote an absentee ballot “in person” at the Circuit Clerk’s office.
Absentee ballots may also be requested and sent by mail if the voter meets the necessary criteria. All mailed absentee ballots must be received by 5:00 p.m. on November 13th and postmarked on or before election day to be eligible to be counted. We encourage those who need to absentee vote by mail to call our office as soon as possible to have sufficient time to go through the absentee process.
For those who need to vote absentee, you can do so now by coming to the Circuit Clerk’s office in person to complete the entire absentee process, or if you meet the following requirements you may request to vote absentee by mail:
• A registered voter who is 65 years of age or older;
• A registered voter who is temporarily residing outside the county;
• A registered voter who is temporarily or permanently physically disabled; and or;
• A registered voter who is the parent, spouse or dependent of a temporarily or permanently physically disabled person who is hospitalized outside the county or more than 50 miles away from his/her residence and will be with that person on Election Day.
• All registered voters who are members of the Armed Services, their spouses, dependents, and overseas citizens who fall under the UOCAVA Voting Act.
The Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open from 8 A.M. to 12 P.M. on Saturday, October 5 th for Voter Registration. The last day to register to vote for the November 5, 2024 General Election is October 7, 2024. 2024 General Election Information for the Public
The 2024 General Election is upon us. With the election cycle beginning, please read the information below as it may pertain to you.
Name/Address Change:
If you have changed your name or address since the last time you voted, please provide us the correct information. This will allow your voting experience to go much smoother on Election Day.
Register to Vote:
If you would like to participate in the upcoming election, you must register to vote by the deadline, October 7, 2024. For anyone unable to come to the office throughout the week, we will be open October 5, 2024, from 8AM to noon, for voter registration.
Absentee Voting:
If you are unable to go to the polls to vote on Election Day, please give us a call and let us verify if you are eligible for an absentee ballot, as absentee voting has begun. For anyone unable to come to the office throughout the week, we will be open October 26th and November 2, 2024, from 8AM to noon, for absentee voting.
Voter Registration Deadline:
I wanted to take a moment to remind anyone who is interested in voting in the upcoming Presidential Election that the deadline to register to vote is October 7, 2024. Don't miss your opportunity to register now!
Please be advised that you may register at the Circuit Clerk's office or at your local municipality. The city clerks have voter registration applications on hand and will be happy to assist you, also.
