20th Century Donation to Helpful Samaritan Pantry
On Oct 12th, 2023 the 20th Century Club of Iuka paid a visit to The Helpful Samaritan Food Pantry at 119 East Eastport Street to deliver their Annual Donation Check. In a thank you note from Delta Datsis of The Helpful Food Pantry to the 20th Century Club of Iuka she wrote, "Please let the ladies know how much we appreciate the support that the 20th Century Club continues to give the Helpful Samaritan Food Pantry. Thank you doesn't seem enough to say but THANK YOU ALL for your support."
The Helpful Food Pantry has been a recipient of annual donations from the 20th Century Club for over 20 years. Catherine Thomas from the club delivered the check and it was accepted by Laurie Powers, Volunteer Coordinator who said, "We stay pretty busy, anyone wishing to volunteer to help should text me at 622-427-9044 and I can let them know when we are in need of volunteers."
The Helpful Food Pantry is open Monday from 11-12:30 am and Thursday 4-5:30.They recommend that people stay in their vehicle, and someone will come out to sign them in.
20th Century President, Brenda Whitfield stated, " It has been an honor to support The Helpful Food Pantry that faithfully provides food for families of Iuka. In addition to the annual monetary donation, our members bring items to our meetings that are needed at the Pantry, like peanut butter and canned fruit. The 20th Century Club is dedicated to supporting the well-being of our community in various ways."
